The Treasury Manager is responsible for managing the company’s treasury operations, ensuring optimal liquidity, managing financial risks, and maintaining strong banking relationships. This role plays a critical part in cash flow forecasting, investment strategy, debt management, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

1. Cash & Liquidity Management

- Monitor cash positions and ensure adequate liquidity in the company.
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts.
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Negotiate banking terms, fees, and credit facilities.
- Manage the opening, closing, and maintenance of bank accounts.
- Execute investment strategies in line with company policy.
- Monitor and manage debt facilities, including covenant compliance and interest payments.
- Explore ways to maximize investment income while ensuring capital safety.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including interest rate, currency, and liquidity risks.
- Monitor financial market trends and economic conditions to identify risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with treasury policies and procedures.
- Prepare treasury and other relevant reports for Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO), Risk and Capital Committee, and the Board and ensure ALCO meeting is held periodically.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Liaise with fund managers to track investment portfolio performance.
- Support external audits and internal reviews related to treasury operations.
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive automation and efficiency in treasury processes.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to integrate treasury systems with ERP platforms.

- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, along with ACA qualification, is required. Possession of an MBA or CFA designation will be considered an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in treasury, corporate finance, or banking.
- Strong understanding of cash management, financial instruments, and capital markets.
- Great attention to detail and the ability to make sound judgment calls and respond quickly with new recommendations when sudden market changes occur.
- Excellent knowledge of the Nigerian capital market.
- Experience with treasury management systems and ERP platforms.
- Ability to prepare professional-looking presentations with graphs and charts to illustrate the data and convey convincing recommendations.
- Analytical and strategic thinking.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Mastery of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Power Point, etc
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling
- Knowledge of IFRS and regulatory frameworks.
