This guarantee product will seek to support greenfield infrastructure projects that conform with InfraCredit’s Eligibility Criteria by offering a post-commercial operations date (COD) refinancing guarantee by way of senior guaranteed infrastructure bonds in favour of the Project SPV, thus incentivising concessionaires, commercial banks, contractors and other project parties to undertake and complete greenfield projects on-time, on-budget and within the expected technical specifications. By providing project developers with ultimate access to the debt capital market and Project Lenders with a clear path to exiting within their preferred timeframe (e.g. 2-5 years), this product has the potential to catalyse significant private sector investment into the greenfield infrastructure space, shift the funding burden away from the public sector and build investor confidence in the asset class.
