InfraCredit’s Main Office Building Receives EDGE Advanced Certification.
Lagos, 19 April 2024: InfraCredit, a ‘AAA’-rated specialised infrastructure credit guarantee institution is pleased to announce that its main Office Building has been awarded the EDGE Advanced Certification from the International Finance Corporation (IFC)
EDGE Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), an innovation of the IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank, is a program that recognizes buildings around the world for their green design. By focusing on energy and water efficiency, as well as the careful selection of building materials, EDGE-certified buildings help to significantly reduce carbon emissions and with universal climate goals. This is crucial for contributing to a healthier environment and aligns with Nigeria’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Agreement, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat global warming.
This certification reflects our unwavering commitment to integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into our operations and environmental structure. It also underscores our dedication to creating workspaces that are not only efficient and resource-conscious but also conducive to the well-being of our people and the broader community. It depicts that we are not only ensuring our guaranteed projects are climate-aligned, but also leading by example in the transition to a greener economy and planet.
As part of the EDGE Advanced Green Building certification, InfraCredit’s project achieved the following: 58% energy savings, 44% water savings, and 53% less embodied carbon in materials.
